It looks like another piece of mine has surfaced at the Episcopal Cafe. This one’s about prayer. In it I talk a little bit about some of my academic work and how it reminds me of basic insights, thinking around the notion how all prayer is somehow by its very nature common prayer.
I loved so many of the things you said in this piece on the nature of common prayer and worship. Absolutely beautiful. One of the things I loved first about my experience in coming to the Episcopal church was the entire notion of the communion of saints. I remember the moment when I “got” what that was about, and it took my breath away.
Thanks for such a lovely piece of writing.
Another nice one, Derek.
